Rafael E. Pérez-Figueroa, MD, MPH. Assistant Professor of Health, Behavior, and Society at the University of Kentucky. He studies health disparities among historically and contemporary underserved populations. He engages in theoretically driven research that seeks to disentangle the effects of different social determinant of health on the outcomes of marginalized populations. His work focuses on public health issues related to substance use, HIV/AIDS, healthcare utilization, and mental health.
