Rachel Hardeman is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Health Policy and Management at the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. As a health equity researcher, her work examines structural racism’s contemporary influence on health with a particular focus on the persistent inequities in birth outcomes experienced by Black women. The overarching goal of her work is to contribute to a body of knowledge that links structural racism to health, identifies opportunities for intervention, and ultimately dismantles the systems, structures, and institutions that have allowed health inequities to persist.
